Which iPhones does Doomies work on?
Any iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Doomies isn’t on iPad, Mac or Android yet.
Why does Doomies need Screen Time permission?
Screen Time is how Doomies knows when you’re near your limit and how it locks apps. Apple keeps your minutes and app names sealed inside iOS, so Doomies only hears how close you are to your limit and whether you went over.
Which apps should I choose?
Tick the apps that eat your day, one by one. Try not to tick the whole Social category: it also holds Messages and WhatsApp, which you probably still want.
How do I change my limit or my apps?
Open Settings in Doomies. You can choose whether a new limit starts now or tomorrow.
Boxes and your shelf
When do I get a box?
Each day you stay under your limit, a box turns up that night. Open it in the app to meet your new Doomie.
I went over. Did I lose anything?
No. Your shelf catches brain rot until midnight and you miss that night’s box, but nothing on it is lost. Your streak cracks rather than ends: a day under in the next two days fixes it, once a week.
I keep getting the same Doomie.
Duplicates happen, but after a run of repeats the next one is always new. Trade three spares in for any Doomie you’re missing, or send them to a friend.
What are Shinies?
Rare versions of each Doomie. They turn up more often the longer your streak runs.
Can I take a break without losing my streak?
Yes. Pause for 1 to 14 days in Settings. Paused days don’t count as over or under, and your streak waits for you.
Blocking and focus
My apps didn’t lock at my limit.
Check that Lock at my limit is on in Doomies, and that Screen Time permission is still on in your iPhone’s Settings under Screen Time. If it is, restart your iPhone. Screen Time sometimes needs a nudge after an iOS update.
How do I get back into a locked app?
You get one “5 more minutes” a day from the block screen. Otherwise the apps unlock at midnight.
How do focus sessions work?
Start one whenever you want from the Focus tab. Your chosen apps stay locked until it ends.
Friends
How do I add friends?
Open the Friends tab and share your friend code, or scan theirs. You can have up to 10 friends.
What can my friends see?
Your name, your shelf, your collection and your spares, so you can swap and gift. Never your minutes or your apps.
Can friends see if I went over?
Only if you choose to share your day. It’s off until you say yes, and it’s for ages 16 and over: Doomies checks your age first, and if you’re under 16 it stays off while the rest of Friends works as normal. Turn it on and friends who also share see whether you’re under, nearly at or over your limit today, whether your shelf has brain rot, your streak and whether a box is waiting, and you see theirs. Turn it off any time in Settings › Friends › Share my day with friends, and it’s removed from iCloud straight away.
How do I remove a friend?
Open their card and tap Remove. You stop seeing each other, and swaps between you stop.
How do I report someone?
Tap Report on their card, or long-press them in Friends. We aim to review every report within 24 hours. They’re removed from your list straight away and can’t add you again.
Subscription and billing
How do I cancel?
On your iPhone, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions, choose Doomies, and tap Cancel. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel it. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments, so refunds are decided by Apple. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong, we’d still like to hear about it.
I got a new iPhone. How do I get my subscription back?
Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore in Doomies. Your shelf comes back from iCloud too.
Privacy and your data
Does Doomies see what I do on my phone?
No. Apple’s Screen Time keeps your minutes and app names on your phone. Doomies only learns whether you crossed your limit.
How do I delete my data?
In Doomies, open Settings › Delete my data and start again. That deletes your shelf, settings and iCloud backup, and removes your profile, friend code and the gifts and swaps you sent from iCloud. For anything else, email support@getdoomies.com and we’ll delete it.
